lorna ashley mitchell was born on march 23, 1988, exactly a week later then she was due. she was named after her maternal grandmother, who passed away a month before she was born and for that reason absolutely adores her name. though she also loves it because she feels it makes her more unique.
born and raised in longport, new jersey, she has never even traveled out of the state in all of her almost 21 years of existance. this is due to the fact that the vast majority of her extended family live somewhere in the state of new jersey, and those that didn't made frequent trips there. it's also because growing up, lorna's family never really had excess amounts of money to spend on trips.
when lorna was eight years old, her parents went through a rough patch in their relationship, during which they went through a trial separation and her mother dated setha's father, while her own father moved out for almost a year. it was especially hard on her because, up until that point, lorna had always been daddy's little girl. ever since her parents decided to work things out and her father moved back in, she's had a resentment towards him for leaving her that she still hasn't completely outgrown.
never one to over-exert herself in anything, physical or mental, lorna has prided herself on the fact that she has never picked up a book and sat down to study for anything. ever. she did, however, manage to pull off straight a's all throughout high school (partly due to the fact that she took mostly art classes) and as a result got almost a full scholarship to stockton college in pomona, new jersey.
tried marijuana for the first time no more than a week into her first year of high school, the result of her being far too easily convinced into something. that day was the first and only time she will ever admit to have fallen in love.
has only had one boyfriend, ever. they dated for almost a year and a half, starting the end of her freshman year of high school and ending the beginning of her junior year. though she was very aware of the fact that he had cheated on her multiple times, she stayed with him until rumors started flying around that he knocked one of the girls up. she dumped him and nine months later, he was a daddy. ever since then she believes herself to be a firm disbeliever in relationships, and would rather just "have a good time".
ironically enough, not long after lorna and her boyfriend broke up, she hooked up with a random stranger one drunken night and he got her pregnant. the pregnancy didn't last long though, because 3 months into it, lorna miscarried; the combined result of denial of the fact that she was knocked up and her refusal to stop smoking weed and doing any other drug she could get her hands on. she only ever told two people about the pregnancy, her best friend ben, and the father, whom she remained fairly good friends with despite everything afterwards.
although she is going to school for art, lorna has no idea what she is going to do with the rest of her life. she could never picture herself teaching it in a classroom setting, let alone being allowed to teach the fragile minds of young children. if she could have it her way, she would live on the beach for the rest of her live with a never ending supply of paints and canvases, weed, and a surf board.
has played in a handful of bands all throughout the last few years of high school and college. she primarily sung in most of them and occasionally contributed on guitar and even drums once, though that didn't last for very long.
